Biography

Music has always been part of Jan's life.  She has been singing playing the guitar and writing songs for over thirty years.  Jan's earliest influences were Joan Baez and Bob Dylan.

In the early 70's Jan was one of the resident singers at The Bristol Troubadour in Waterloo Street, Clifton.  It was there she rubbed shoulders with many up and coming recording artists of the day.  The Troubadour opened most evenings with special guest evenings on Fridays and Saturdays.  Jan also did her time around the pubs and working mens clubs in Bristol Somerset and Gloucestershire.

Around the same time Jan also  sang at many of the Cornish folk clubs including Pipers Folk Club at Botallack near St Just on The Lands End Peninsula where she was able to meet many local performers including the legendary  Brenda Wooton and John the Fish.

Jan's love of Cornwall has grown over the years and over the last decade she has returned to the Cornish folk scene where she has found many  good friends who have encouraged her to record the songs she has penned.

Jan has produced two albums to date, both recorded at the VIP Lounge in Penzance and mastered at Magic Space Studio in St Just.

These days you can often catch her at Wheal Dream Folk Club near Helston on Sundays and The Cadgwith Cove Inn on Tuesday where this beautiful old fishing village comes alive with vibrant music.
